What is Grief Writing?

Grief writing is a simple, personal practice of using words to express and explore loss. It doesn’t require writing skill, special rules, or the goal of creating something “good.” Instead, it offers a gentle way to put feelings, memories, and thoughts onto the page—exactly as they are.

At its core, grief writing is about making space for your feelings in a compassionate and supportive manner. You might write about what you miss, what hurts, what confuses you, or what has changed. The writing can be messy, repetitive, emotional, or quiet.

When are the sessions?

The first session is on January 18th, 2026 from 2-4pm at The Heart Studio, located in Settendown Village in Cumming, Georgia. We will meet every other Sunday for a total of 6 sessions.
